To add to the woes of businesses and computer users in the UK there are new ransomware Trojan’s hitting computers that follow the same strategy as a number of other encryption infections such as CryptoLocker or Cryptobit Ransomware. CryptoWall Ransomware is designed to infect all versions of Windows, including Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 & Windows 8. As soon as the Ransomware infects a computer it uses RSA2048 encryption to encrypt crucial files, effectively preventing users from accessing their data. The CryptoWall Ransomware claims it is neccessary to pay $500 USD to recover the encrypted data. Malware researchers strongly advise against paying the CryptoWall Ransomware ransom as it only encourages the cyber terrorists to continue carrying on these types of attacks and does not guarantee you will recover your data.
