Microsoft’s new operating system coming soon…

Microsoft has announced a new ‘Windows event’ on June 24th, promising to show off what the operating system will look like in the future.

Experts believe the event will display a new operating system and expects it to have a complete revamp from the current operating system Windows 10.

What does this mean for your business?

There is no complete information on how Windows 11 will interact with businesses and security softwares, however we do encourage that users maintain their Windows versions up to date in order for other apps on their machine to work properly.

Operating system updates are made to maintain the security of your computer, and to keep all applications up to date. Falling behind on updates can put your data on the computer at danger of being hacked.

We strongly advise any companies who are using an operating system other than Windows 10 to upgrade immediately. This is to ensure that the Windows 11 installation goes as smoothly as possible, as there will be no upgrade path from Windows 7.

What hints to a new operating system?

Microsoft has announced the end of support for Windows 10 on the 14 October 2025.

This simply helps to encourage more people to consider the next operating system.

Alongside this, there has been Windows 11 leaks such as what the new operating system looks like and screenshots of the test build.

Microsoft also released a teaser advert on YouTube. The 11 minute long video featured Windows Startup sounds, but in a Slo-fi remix. Perfect for being calm and relaxed for their ‘June 24th Microsoft Event’. They added in the description, ‘Take a slow trip down memory lane with the Windows 95, XP, and 7 startup sounds slowed down to a meditative 4,000% reduced speed. ’

A GOV.UK study (2020) showed that ‘46% of businesses, and 26% of charities report having cyber security breaches or attacks in the last 12 months. This is 68% higher among medium businesses and 75% large businesses.’

Using the most recent operating system, security tools, and software, as well as ensuring that your hardware is in proper working condition, can easily prevent from any attacks or data being stolen.

We will continue to help and support all our clients with Windows 10, but advise to update to the latest version when available.
