Why have an IT audit at all?
Most small and mid-sized businesses do not have a clean, honest picture of their IT. The reasons are simple. Day-to-day fires consume the time. The current provider is reluctant to flag gaps they should already have closed. And nobody on the inside has the time or the licence cost to run a proper review.
That picture matters because the gaps are what cost real money when they catch up with you. A failed restore. An identity that should have been deleted six months ago. A Microsoft 365 mailbox forwarding to an attacker. A backup that has not actually run since January. None of these announce themselves until they do.
An audit is the cheapest way to find them. Ours is free because we would rather you knew where you stood, even if the answer is to stay with your current provider.

How the free audit works
1. Book a 60-minute call
Fill in the form or call us directly. We schedule a video call with a senior engineer within one working day, at a time that suits you. No screen access, no credentials, no follow-up meetings unless you want one.
2. We audit your IT
Structured questions in the call, then an hour or two of our own checking afterwards. We look at cyber security, Microsoft 365, backup, network, devices, support contract and compliance posture.
3. You get a written report
Within five working days. Plain English, prioritised, showing what is healthy, what needs attention, and what needs fixing now. Yours to use however you choose. We do not call to chase work.
What your free IT audit covers
- Cyber security baseline – multi-factor authentication, conditional access, endpoint protection, admin account hygiene, dormant identities.
- Microsoft 365 review – tenant configuration, mailbox forwarding rules, sharing permissions, default security settings.
- Backup and recovery – what is actually being backed up, when it last restored, and how long a real recovery would take.

The four gaps we find on almost every audit
Multi-factor authentication that is mostly on
Mostly is not on. The accounts that bypass MFA are the ones attackers find. We flag the exceptions and what to do with them.
Backups that have not been tested
A backup nobody has restored from is a hopeful gesture, not a recovery plan. We check the last successful restore and what would happen this week.
Microsoft 365 mailbox forwarding rules
Attackers set inbox forwarding rules to siphon copies of invoices and contracts. Most tenants have at least one nobody recognises. We list them.
Active identities for people who left
Six-month-old leavers with mailboxes, file access and sometimes admin rights. We name them, so you can close them.

Yes. There is no charge, no obligation to switch, and we do not require a follow-up meeting. We do ask that you are a UK business with at least 10 employees so the audit is worth our engineer’s time.
